Promise Fulfilled For Class of 2020!

When schools were shut down in the Spring of 2020 and field days were canceled, Principal Gary Gardner made a promise to our 5th grade students that they would be welcomed back to say a proper “Goodbye”.

Promises were made and those promises were kept on Monday, May 23rd, 2022. That’s when students who were in 5th grade in 2020 came back for “Pizza on the Playground”.

Approximately 30 students and their families came back to see old friends and former teachers.

In addition to the fun of seeing everybody again, this event held deeper meaning for some of the attendees.

“Thank you so much. This is all my son has been talking about since the email came out.” said one parent.

“This was the closure we needed.” said another.

The parent of one student was glad their daughter could reconnect with her teachers that had meant so much to her “My daughter was disappointed school closed, but not because of her friends. She knew she would see them again. She was most disappointed she wouldn’t see her teachers again.”
