School Hours, Drop-Off & Pickup

School day hours:  7:55 a.m. – 2:20 p.m.

General Transportation Information:

Please allow 10 minutes before and after your scheduled bus pick up time to allow for bus routes to become complete. Any questions about bus times need to be directed to P-H-M Department of Transportation at (574) 258-9565.

Because your child’s safety is the highest priority for us, we use a number system for families of students who are regular car riders at dismissal time.  This allows for students to be supervised in the classrooms until you are ready for pick up.

Drop-Off Procedures:

  • Students will be released from the car rider line  beginning at 7:40 a.m.
  • Car riders should always use the right lane when arriving, leaving the left lane open for staff and buses.
  • Staff members will be outside to direct traffic and students during this time.
  • Students in cars parked along the sidewalk will be dismissed all at one time.
  • We will then move the entire line forward, allowing another wave of cars to enter the parking area and dismiss from the sidewalks.
  • Please be patient and do not pull out of line and pass vehicles in the parking lot.
  • For safety, students should exit out the right side (passenger side) of the vehicle.
  • Please do not double park or allow your child to walk between vehicles.
  • If it is necessary for you to exit your car, please park in the lot.
  • If you arrive after staff has gone inside (7:55 a.m.) you must walk your student up to the main doors and press the white button located to the right on the brick wall to sound the buzzer in the office.
  • Office staff will release the door for access to the vestibule.
  • Parents are asked to remain in the vestibule and sign your child in as tardy on the clipboard provided.  An intercom will be available inside the vestibule to communicate with office staff.

Pickup Procedures:

  • For pick-up, please follow the same safety procedures listed above and make sure your assigned car rider tag is hanging and visible.
  • If you do not have your car rider tag, staff will ask for a photo of the tag for identification.  New tags will be distributed the first week of school.  Car rider tags are only needed for dismissal, not arrival.
